Exhibitor's Guide
The Exhibitor’s Guide is a comprehensive handbook that provides all the information needed to participate in the fair as an exhibitor. It outlines entry rules, categories, deadlines, judging criteria, and important procedures. This guide helps ensure a smooth and successful experience for everyone showcasing their work.

Exhibitor Fair Entry
Fair Entry will be open from June 1 to July 15, 2026.
If you require additional assistance with Fair Entry or do not have access to a computer, please contact the Fair Office at 218-254-0024 or email office@stlofair.org. Kindly call in advance to schedule an appointment. We are happy to help you enter your exhibits.
There are two options to enter your exhibits:
Horse Exhibitors & Show Participants
Forms for Horse Exhibitors & Show Participants. Everyone exhibiting a horse or participating in a horse show must complete a waiver.
All Animal Exhibitors
Code of Show Ring Ethics by the IAFE – As a member of the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, the St. Louis County Fair supports the I.A.F.E. Show Ring Code of Ethics and requests all animal exhibitors to abide by this code. A copy of I.A.F.E. Show Ring Code of Ethics will be posted in each animal barn. Entry day for all contests is Tuesday, August 4 from 10 am to 7 pm.
Adult Contests
Creative Activities
Patriotic Mittens -Adult sized, knitted
Culinary
Scones – Judged on Taste, Texture, and Appearance
Flowers
Plant a Basket – Must contain at least three (3) live flowers with a patriotic theme. Container: no canning jars.
Crops/Gardening
Plant a Salad Bowl – In a large bowl or plastic container, plant at least three (3) salad ingredients: lettuce, herbs, onion, tomato plant, cucumber vine (fruit need not be visible}, etc.
Fine Arts
Celebrate the Arrowhead Region -Take a picture of something that makes our Arrowhead Region unique. Photo should be finished and framed.
Youth Contests
Creative Activities
Ages 5 and Under – Playdough Pet – No taller than 6″ and presented on a small 6″ paper plate. Ages 6 – 11 – Popsicle Stick Item – Be creative! Ages 12-17 – Patriotic Scarf – Knitted or crocheted.
Culinary
Ages 17 and under – “Dump Cake” – Judged on Taste, Texture, and Appearance
Flowers
Ages 11 and Under – Plant a “Cool Whip” Container – Plant a “Cool Whip” container with at least two (2) different plants. Decorate the container with a patriotic theme. Ages 12-17 – Design a Jug Planter – Using an upside-down jug, design a face on it and grow plant for the hair. (See example in Flowers Division section)
Crops/Gardening
Ages 11 and Under – Pot of Beans – Using an 8″ or 1 O” or creative container, fill with soil and plant green or yellow seed. (Watch them grow} Ages 12-17 – Recycled 2 Liter Pop Bottle Planter – Using a 2-liter bottle for a planter, plant a vegetable or herb. (See picture in Crops and Grain Division section}
Fine Arts
Ages 18 and Under -Toothpick challenge – Build something out of only toothpicks that you would see at the farm. Finished artwork must be mounted on a cardboard base.
